List previous occupation if currently unemployed?

I was laid off in August 2015, should I list my occupation as what I was doing or change it to unemployed?

You can put anything you like; the IRS only uses that for statistical purposes.

You can enter whatever you want to for occupation.  It has no effect on your tax return.
