What does that mean?

I have input everything exactly as listed and exactly as the program has specified - so what is this? How do I fix it?

You're filing jointly?  Did you take the standard deduction of $24,000 for a married couple?  Are either of you being claimed by someone else like your parents?

Hi, yes, we are filing jointly with standard deduction and no, we're in our 40s so no one else is claiming us. 🙂

If you took the standard deduction, the Federal amount would show as $24,000 and you would split that amount in half, so $12,000 for each of you.
