License Code of CD not recognized

Purchased CD from Staples, did Install, started TT, Collected Updates, Restarted, (per instructions), started TT, logged in, responded to requested for License Code and got response 'Code not recognized'.  How do I recover this stupid error (Verification of code seem to be correct - 16 characters. )

I should add that my account contains Quicken.  I'm assuming one can use an account for multiple products(?).
