Hello I had a question about filing jointly with my husband. Last year we couldn't due to our age, does this still apply.

And there never has been an age limit. You may be confusing social security rules. It is a bad idea  to try to file separately to avoid  tax on SS benefits. The IRS has written the rule to prevent that.

Last year we tried filling jointly. We actually got LESS back filing jointly then if we were to file separately. None of us get SS benefits. It would not let us file together it said one of the spouses had to be atleast 25 years of age.

You misread what you were being told. The 25 age limit is to qualify for the earned income Credit (EIC).  
It is possible, but rare, for a couple to come out better  filing as Married Filing Separately (MFS) than Married Filing Jointly (MFJ). You are not allowed to file as Single.

But to answer your original question: you may file as MFJ this year, regardless of age. You may also file an amended return, for 2015, changing to MFJ, if you find you made an error.

Alright thank you so much for the help !! I didn't want to do the same thing twice. This is only the 2nd year filing married so I'm still a bit new!
