Is that we have 60 days to reply to IRS on the above 2 notices which is not mentioned in both notices ?
Would like to ask further on the 60 days time frame to reply to IRS.

@leesm99pikl , I cannot categorically say that there is a 60 day response required. Most notices tell you how many days you have to respond --- very often it is 90, sometimes 30. Once a notice is sent out , date of the notice is on top right hand corner of page 1 of the notice, the clock starts ( not when you receive it) and if no response is received by the IRS by the date required/stipulated, automatic next level letter/notice will be sent out -- in most cases. If you call them and ask for more time, often they will grant an extension to reply ( but if you own monies, the interest charges continue ).
Does that answer you query ?
Thanks a lot on the prompt reply .
There is no response day required stated , only the date of notice .
Is difficult for me to call Malaysia as the line always cut off / hang on for very long time .
so, from your opinion is I still have time to reply to IRS as no response day required is stated ?
Thanks
@leesm99pikl , since you have difficulties contacting IRS by phone from your location, you have two options (a) send in your response ASAP and with delivery confirmation if possible ( don't ask for signature because that will only delay things) -- keep record of your actions.; (b) if you are near an US embassy / consulate you can visit the local IRS branch -- they often have such a branch especially there is lots of expats in that country. They are usually very helpful. In any case just do the needful as soon as is possible. I am assuming here that you are disagreeing with the IRS' demands / position. If on the other hand you agree with position , then just pay and get it over with. Note however, that IRS is likely to look at yur returns for the next three years for compliance, especially if the amount due is large --
I hope this helps
