It is trying to charge me 34.99 for refund processing fee but I already had an existing account for direct deposit and it states I don't need to pay this fee.

Deluxe is not FREE, that could amount to $34.99

If you choose TurboTax fees to be deducted from your Federal refund, then there is an additional charge for 34.99$ for that service which is charged by the bank that handles the transaction. You can pay your TurboTax fees by credit card or direct debit to avoid the extra charge.

To review the fees for using TurboTax software to prepare your tax return
    Click on "My Account" near the top right of your screen
    Select "Tools" from the dropdown menu
    Press the "My Fees" button to see a detail of your charges
