Is it okay to buy Turbo Tax from Staples or amazon because it's less expensive than directly going through Intuit.

Sure! Feel free to shop our products through retailers. However, pay attention to the product you choose as some include the state returns and some do not. Please see attached screenshots.

That's only for Deluxe.  Deluxe comes 2 ways, one with a free state program and Deluxe without a state for states that don't have an income tax.  If you buy a download online be sure to check which one it is.  It will say
Federal+Efile+State  or just  Federal+Efile

I've seen some that say Deluxe NS for No State.

I live in Texas where State is not necessary... Can I download from Amazon & still have access to my online TurboTax info from previous years?
