Issue related to importing 1099-B

Let us say, I have purchased NLOK option on different dates, but all of them expired worthless.

When Form 1099B is imported, it treats NLOK as one transaction (although it spreads to various acquired dates), now Turbo Tax cannot find Acquired Date on form 1099B, and it asks me to review and fill out.

It is annoying to look into trading record to find those dates, but the website only allows me to enter one acquired date, how can I fill it out? I have multiple acquired dates.

Thanks.

Issue related to importing 1099-B

The software needs a date acquired because it has to be able to calculate whether the sales were short or long term transactions.  The capital gains rate is higher for short term (a year or less).

If the dates acquired as 'various' are all long term (over a year ago), an average date will work.

If you aren't sure how long you held the securities, try looking for the "Box" or "Code" on your 1099-B.

If Box A or B is checked, then the holding period was less than one year.

If Box D or E is checked, then the holding period was more than one year.

If you still get an error, you could delete your imported transaction and enter it manually.

I deleted the import, and enter summary data and upload 1099B form.
