Isn't it against federal law to extort money in order to provide accurate income information to the federal government for filing purposes?

It is unethical to extort money from customers in order to input 1099-MISC information or self-report income to the federal government through Turbo Tax for filing purposes.  You are literally threatening your customers with loss of liberty if they fail to pay for the expanded service you offer in order to report 1099s, self employment income, rents, etc.

You are free to do your returns by hand and mail them.

If you qualify there is a free version of the software available to you in which you can enter your self-employment income:

You qualify if your income was $34,000 or less, or $66,000 or less if active duty military, or if you qualify for Earned Income Credit

You need a different account and user ID.
