Are you saying a Federal refund deposit you received was $300 less than you expected?

First, be sure you are considering only your Federal refund and not including any state refund.  The 2 refunds come separately.

Or did you choose to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund?   If so,  here are some typical fees:

Live Self-Employed
Federal return 199.99
State return 44.99
Option to pay fees out of the Fed refund:   39.99 service fee (44.99 for California filers)
Plus possible sales taxes

If you used all of the above, the total fee would be 284.97 or 289.97 (California) plus possible sales taxes.
