The IRS will begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files on January 29.   And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

After a lengthy phone call with Turbotax Expert Help, apparently there is an e-file issue with Turbotax software re: returns that include a Schedule C. There is no technical reason other than a software glitch with e-filing a return that includes a Sch. C, and it will require a Turbotax software update to patch the issue that will not allow e-filing of an individual return that includes a Sch. C. There is no definite date as of today as to when Turbotax will have this issue resolved.
