Question

IRS rejection

I got this message from the IRS:

This year, your spouse’s 2020 AGI that was entered didn’t match what the IRS has on file.

Since my spouse filed a joint return with me, this doesn't make any sense.  I re-entered our 2020 AGI but got rejected again?

TurboTax suggested:

Find your spouse’s 2020 tax return Form 1040.

which also doesn't make any sense.

What is going on here???

I have had the same rejection notice from the IRS and I have verified beyond a doubt that our AGI for 2070 is entered correctly on our 2021 Tax Return.  I have just refiled for the second time and again been rejected.  My wife and I always file jointly so that is not the problem.  I have concluded that this is Intuits problem and so far they have not solved it.  !!!  Intuit,,,

Please, please call me at [phone number removed] so we can resolve this NOW.

I got rejected three times and finally figured out that our 2020 return was not processed by the IRS till February of 2022 due to the huge backlog.  Try entering a zero for your AGI.  It worked on my fourth try.
