I lost my IRS ID Pin.  I applied and received a new one, but it was 6 digits. Why does TurboTax only allow 5  digits?

You enter your IP Pin in a different area.

How do I add or remove my 6-digit IP PIN?

Follow these instructions to enter your IP PIN or to remove one that you accidentally entered.

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account
2. Open or continue to your return if you don't already have it open
3. In the search bar type IP pin (don't forget the space)
4. Select the Jump to link in the search results
5. On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided
   • If you need to remove the IP PIN, select the trash icon
6. Select Continue, then select Done
