IRS pending payments

I paid my federal income tax through turbo tax on April 13th using my checking account info. The money was withdrawn (by the government) on April 14th. Why does that payment still show up as "pending" on my irs profile? They won't penalize me for my payment being late will they? I have my bank statement showing the date the money was withdrawn from my account.

For some reason the updating of the IRS Payment Activity screen is extremely slow. Check back in a week or two and see if your payment shows up as processed. The payment will be credited as of the date it was made. It will not be considered late.

Okay, are you certain of this? I’ve been on hold with the IRS for an hour still waiting to get someone so I can get confirmation. Do not want my payment showing up as late when they withdrew it from my account last week! I hope you are correct.

When did the payment end up posting?  I filed 4-13-25, IRS withdrew on 4-16, processed return on 4-17 (at least where I can see the transcript - maybe not fully processed?), but payment still pending.  Seems like their website is slow at updating pending to processed.  Not sure on years past when I paid but never ended up with an issue so I’m guessing they are just slow at updating website but taking the money out they are fast.
