My Cp2000 notice claimed that someone reported more income than what I reported. The problem is that the number they say was wrong on my return is a calculated number and not a reported number. I had entered all the correct numbers into the Turbotax Form 1040 Line 6 form and all the numbers and calculations are correct as far as I can tell with the number on line 20 of that form being transferred accurately to line 6 of the Form 1040. I do not know how the IRS can just put in a number and say that someone else reported that number when they would have had to take my numbers and do the calculations themselves.
What is even more frustrating is trying to get ahold of anyone at either the IRS or TurboTax that can give me any insights. Tom
