IRA distribution < $200

I am over 60 and had a very small 401K distribution of less than $200 (the entire 401k amount from a short term job) and had tax withheld. I received the 1099 R and entered it into TurboTax. However, on my return the income amount of the distribution is not included in my total income for the year, but my withheld tax is in my total taxes paid. Is this correct??

No, it most likely should be taxable income.  Do you have a Box 7 Code?

Yes

IRA distribution < $200

On your 1099-R, there should have been an amount in box 2a (Taxable Amount).  If it was blank, you should enter the same amount in box 2 as that which was in box 1 (Gross Distribution).  If you left box 2A as blank or zero, that would be a reason for it not showing up in your taxable income on line 5b of the 1040.

Thanks for the response. I did enter the taxable amount in 2A but it is not included in the total IRA distributions on line 4b 1040. I have 2 other distributions from other sources that were entered and they DO show up in 4b. I've tried adding and deleting the small 1099 but it doesn't show.

Ok, my mistake. The smaller amount IS included in 5B under Pensions and Annuities. My bad. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks again for your help.
