Intuit Turbotax Deluxe but after finishing Federal Tax software is saying California State Taxes ae completed but nothing

I've had no issued with Turbotax Deluxe CDs over the years but not this year.  After finishing the Federal Taxes I started California State Taxes and thought I was following their instructions and the software asked me for very little entries as the system was telling me that they were taking information from my previous Federal Tax entries.  I usually owe more money on the State side than the Federal side and when the software told me that my state taxes were complete I noticed that I owned no money which I thought was strange.  I then decided to preview the actual state tax forms and the Federal Taxes were there but no California State Tax forms.  So I went back and tried again with same results.  I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there is a software glitch so I need some help.

If you are using TurboTax Deluxe Desktop Download, you can change your view from Step by Step to Forms by clicking Forms on the top menu. Then, you can see which forms have been prepared from your entries.

You can also select Tools, then My Tax Data to confirm what entries have been made on your return and whether they were made by the user.
