Injured Spouse Student Loans

When my husband and I filed our taxes we also filed for injured spouse because I am in default for my student loans. I thought the offsets were going to resume this year but it seems everyone is saying the department of education and IRS are not taking refund money for student loans. Is this true that student loan repayment and IRS offset for student loans is still paused? If so, will it still delay the process of my refund since our CPA had us fill out the injured spouse form?

Injured Spouse Student Loans

Yes. The IRS will take refunds to pay delinquent student load debt.  The Injured Spouse form will help to release the funds however it is a slower process than if there was no debt.  You should expect at least four weeks of processing and it could be shorter or longer. The link below will provide information that could help you.
