My boyfriend hasn’t worked all last year and I have taken care of him for more than 6 months out of the year. However his father passed and my boyfriend got an inheritance. Can I still claim him even if he got a inheritance?

If your  BF had more than $5050 of income in 2024 --not counting Social Security--- he cannot be claimed as a dependent.

You may be able to still claim him. One requirement is that you need to furnish over 1/2 of his support. If he used the inheritance to support himself, then he may not qualify, depending on how much money he spent on his own support. The money he inherited would not be taxable, so it wouldn't count towards the income limit of $5,050. Also, he would have had to live with you for the full year.
