I'm filing jointly for the last time, as my wife died 01/23/2023. I mailed in my turboTax generated paperwork last year with the death certificate, so the IRS knows my spouse is dead. And I do still have the option of filing jointly this year, the IRS and turbotax are clear on that. I've edited my personal info section to say that I'm widowed. Still my return has been rejected. (3rd time) I need help to be sure I've filled everything I can correctly as time is short. IRS and turboTax help both say that I should be able to file electronically.

Now time is getting short and I need my refund!

Thanks for helping,

Mark

If the IRS has locked her social security number, you will need to file by paper. This often happens after a death to prevent fraud.
