Hi,
I notice my number on the TurboTax online and Mac version is different and I have put anything the same there; from my mac version, I saw on 1040 line1 got around $2700 more than the number sum up from my entered W-2s
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
that can happen if you got dependent care on your w-2 (box 10) and either haven't gotten to that section in Turbotax or spent less than the credit. if you can view the 1040 you would see letters like DCR on that line.
there is also a worksheet in Turbotax called the wages, etc wks that will show how line 1 was arrived at,
other items like allocated tips, return of retirement contributions and others can add to what the w-2 shows on line 1.
or maybe you entered something incorrectly in one version but not the other version
Thank you for your explanation!
I saw on my Mac version that line 1 of 1040 is the sum of my w2 and dependent care.
The "total income" on my Mac version includes wages qualified dividends, ordinary dividends, and capital gain, but on the online version, I only see Wages(the number without dependent care) and 1099-DIV Dividend income, and 1099-B Capital gains. Does it mean the online version is incorrect?
