Inconsistent 540 line 78 entry between "step-by-step" and saved PDF form

On CA 540 line 78, I filled in "IRC 1341, $1234"(dollar amount for illustration purposes only) to claim the "Claim of Right". I printed the saved PDF and filed the paper return. Then CA FTB sent me a letter saying my calculation was incorrect and I needed to pay hundreds instead of getting a refund.  I then looked at the PDF and found on line 78, it was only "IRC 1234". I was told to file an amendment - Schedule X plus the whole tax return package (>50 pages). 
I tried for an hour but couldn't fix the problem electronically (TurboTax always omitted "1341, $" on the PDF form). In the end, I had to put in "IRC 1341, $1234" by hand!
Although it is too late for this year, please let me (and future customers) know how to fix this. Thank you!

I had the exact same thing happen for TurboTax 2024. This really needs to be fixed! I am now filing an amended return as well.
