In finish and file, it says "which tax return did **** file last year? 1040 1040-SR 1040-NR 1040-X unfortunately, the answer is 1040-V which is not one of the options.

1040-V is not an option for in the finish and file section.
what do we do?

The 1040-V is jsut the payment voucher...it is NOT the actual tax return.

1)  IF you download a PDF of last year's tax file, you can look at it.

2) A 1040-NR is only used by non-resident aliens, so if you are a US citizen, it's not that.

3) A 1040-X is only used by people who "amended" their taxes last year...so if you didn't amend your taxes last year, it's not that.

4)  A 1040-SR was only used by people who were age 65 or older in 2022.  (Though it is just a larger-type version of the 1040)

5)  All that's left is the 1040
