importing from brokerage accounts

When I try to import from Edward Jones it states the statements are not available until February 16th, but they are already there. Is there a way to import them now?

Financial institutions often have the information available online or for you to print out a few weeks before they have it formatted for importing into tax software.  So if you are in a hurry ---enter it by hand.  Or wait for them to have it ready for import in February.

there is a differnce between the physical 1099-bs and the files that can be imported directly from the brokerage. It may have them ready for download as a pdf but the file/link needed for import may not be ready.

Even if you can see the statements/documents online, they may not be formatted for importing into tax software yet.  That usually takes longer.  Check back end of January to mid-February if you want to import.  Or ....key it in by hand.
