Import Supporting Document for Form 5329?

I use the desktop TurboTax.
This year I need to file Form 5329 (didn't take IRA RMD on time, and need to request waiver of penalty).
The Form 5329 requires attachment of a Statement of Explanation.  I have created that letter in PDF format.  But how do I attach it (or insert it) to the Form 5329 in TurboTax?

There is no way to import the pdf into TurboTax.  You can only add a comment.  Which should be sufficient because if the IRS questions it you can provide them with your proof. If you want to go that extra step for that added protection,  you will have to mail in your return with Form 5329 and a copy of that check.

If you use the desktop version of TurboTax, there is a section in TurboTax where you can type in your explanation and TurboTax will incorporate it in your form 5329 and you can e-file your return.

Please follow this the instructions in this answer by Tax expert ColeenD3.

Thanks for the response.
I'm with you as far as your recipe goes.  But what I want to do is include a PDF copy of a photo of my check with the 5329, proving that I did receive the RMD (albeit late).  Several tax lawyer websites recommend that step, to bolster the case for getting the IRS to waive the penalty for not taking the RMD on time.

So can I import that PDF into TT, so I can still e-file the 5329 as part of my complete return filing??

"what I want to do is include a PDF copy of a photo of my check "

completely unnecessary.

put dates and amounts of the distribution in your explanation statement.
