Import of prior-year data appears to be incorrect

I'm in the midst of preparing my 2023 Federal return and am working on IRA contributions.  At the point where it asks for the IRA basis, which is found on Form 8606.  However, the amount showing is zero, but the amount on last year's 8606 is not zero, so it appears that the import didn't work correctly.  If I manually edit the basis to match what I think it should be, TurboTax wants me to add an explanation for the edit, which will be included with my return, but this isn't appropriate.  Has anyone else encountered this, or is there a way to re-import to see if the problem corrects itself?

Thanks,

Scott

The TurboTax Help articles How do I troubleshoot copying info from a prior-year return in TurboTax Desktop? and Transfer last year's return to TurboTax Desktop for Windows may be able to help with your issue.
