import a incomplete desktop return to online

i started my 2022 on my desktop version of turbotax. i now want to actually try continuing and completing the return online. how do i upload what i've already done? or do i have to start from scratch? thanks.

Why do you even want to do that instead of using the superior CD/download software?   Sorry, but you cannot put a return you started using the Cd/download into the online software.   The reverse is possible---you can start online and switch to desktop. 

But...you cannot use the license code for the desktop software to pay for online.  So you would have the added aggravation of requesting a refund for the CD/download and then you would have to start the 2022 online return from scratch and pay for online software.

Here is a summary of the differences between desktop and online. 

Desktop	Online
Your file is on your computer only.  You are responsible for backup and security.	Your file is in the cloud.  You can work on your tax return from any web-connected computer, and Turbotax handles backups and security.
You can prepare an unlimited number of returns from one installed program, and e-file the first 5.	Each tax return requires a separate online account with a different user name and password, and each online account will require a separate filing fee.
