Married in September 2018. Spouse had health coverage through October through the marketplace, and had APTC paid directly to insurer. Need to compute alternative calculation for marriage year
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Immediately after entering (or editing) your 1095-A, you need to check the box that you got married that year.
However, in MANY cases (almost all of the cases I have personally seen), the Alternative Calculation does NOT reduce the repayment. When that is the case, you won't see anything different on the actual Form 8962 (I think you can see it on the 8962 worksheet in the program though).

In our case using the Alternative Calculation for Year of Marriage would save us some money. How do we go about entering the data in TurboTax?
