If you no longer need the self employed version of TurboTax, you can downgrade by using the Clear and Start Over option. This will clear everything from the return and you can start over using the version that you want. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4248526
I tried clearing and starting over but each time I enter my information TurboTax automatically selects the Self Employed Edition. All I have is one W2 and a very simple return. How do I change to Turbo Tax Free? I've tried clearing and re-entering all the information multiple times. Do I have to create a new account?
First check to see if you have any 1099-Misc info that carried over from last year.
Type '1099-misc' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1099-misc'.
Delete any entries you see there, then try the 'Clear and Start Over' again.
You may also want to clear your Cache and Cookies or try a different browser.
If this doesn't resolve your issue, you may need to create a new account.
Here's how to Contact TurboTax Help for tech support.
