Do I report a "1099" i received for research study participant as box 7 - "non-employee" or box 3 - other income? the amount is in box 7?

Do I report a "1099" i received for research study participant as box 7 - "non-employee" or box 3 - other income? the amount is in box 7?

If the income is reported in Box 7, you are considered to be an Independent Contractor and must file a Schedule C. That law hasn't changed. You will need either the Self-Employed or Home and Business Editions.
