Definitely the whole year if she lived with you the rest of the year. School/College is considered away temporarily for children who are studends.

Kids away at school are only considered to be temporarily absent from the parent's home. As such, you answer all year when asked how long they lived with you.

Is it best to wait and use The American Opportunity Credit for when my daughter is a full time collage student to get more benefit
