That notice is because you should not file the 1040-ES with your tax return.

You would attach it if you mailed a quarterly tax payment.

You can mail them to the Addresses for taxpayers and tax professionals filing Form 1040-ES

You can Pay Online. The online option is convenient and secure and helps make sure we get your payments on time. To pay your taxes online or for more information, go to IRS.gov/Payments.
