If she was not a full time college student some part of 5 months in 2023 then you cannot claim her as a dependent and she should file her own return as a non dependent.

Is it OK to claim Lifetime Learning Credit on my non-dependent daughter's return and pay a 10% penalty and regular tax on the 529 withdrawal earnings on the parent return?
