If I'm still married due to our divorce being dismissed instead of finalized but we've been apart for over 10 years can I file single

you can only file as single if unmarried or separated from spouse either by divorce or a separate maintenance decree.

did you pay more than 1/2 the cost of keeping up a home for yourself and your child who lived with you for more than half the year.  if yes then you can file as head of household.

otherwise your only choices are to file a joint return or married filing separate return
