If I live in the city of Detroit but work in the City of Ann Arbor do I still need to pay the City of Detroit income tax?
Yes. As a resident, you must file a resident tax return and calculate tax on all your income. But, Detroit will give you a credit for any income tax paid to Ann arbor. So, you are not double taxed
