If I efile, can I still mail an additional for to the IRS to adjust my return?

turbo tax is trying to force me to upgrade to file one form which will make me have to pay for state taxes too. i would like to just do the free file and mail in the additional form. is this possible?

It is not possible to do it this way. If you E-file your return and need to make changes, you will have to file an amended income tax return. The IRS will not amend your income tax return if you mail in additional information. They will simply process the return you E-filed.
