If i am married with no children, how many dependents should i claim?

@m.hurd1031 When you file a joint tax return with your spouse, you will receive an exemption of two. That equates to $4050 each or $8100 total deduction. Since you have no children, you will show NO dependents.

Zero.  Your wife is not a dependent.

You can look at your 1040 line 6a to see what you have.

last year it said i had 2 dependents listed. is that an issue? and is there any way to change that if it is?

For Exemptions you would have had 2, one for you and one for your spouse. But a dependent is probably a child, or other relative, not a spouse.

If you have dependents you would have added their info into the dependent section past your spouse's section.
