If box 18 on my paper W2 is blank - why did it auto fill a dollar amount when I uploaded it into the turbo tax app? Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

IF you uploaded it from a Picture or a PDF file....don't...that's error prone.

Still, you can just edit the software's W-2 form to match whatever is on your paper W-2 form.

Check for proper entries in every dang box and checkmark  (but don't put in values that are just zero).

As long as you don't live in a locality (city, county, etc) with a local income tax, it's a moot point.  It's like living living in Texas, which doesn't have a state income tax and having your earnings reported in box 16 State Wages - they aren't taxable by the state.  If your locality doesn't have an income tax, there's no additional tax on those wages.  As far as a "glitch", TurboTax just imports the data provided.
