You are considered as self employed. Here are the steps to enter your information :
If you received a Form 1099-MISC with ONLY income being reported, you can stay in TurboTax Deluxe online to enter your information.
If you received income and incurred related expenses, you will need to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed edition to complete your filing.
In your TurboTax Deluxe online program, follow
steps to upgrade:
1. After sign in, select Take
me to my return
2. Across the top, in the search box ,
type in schedule c and Enter
3. Select Jump to schedule c
4. Did you have any self employment
income or expenses? Answer Yes and continue to
enter information about your business.
5. On screen, Can we help you
report any other income for business? make your selection and Continue
6. On screen, Did you have
expenses? , answer Yes
7. On Upgrade screen, select Upgrade
to TurboTax Self-Employed
8. You will be upgraded to
Self-Employed
9. On screen, We'll get to
your expenses soon- select Continue to follow prompts
