I work remotely from Texas but went to Kansas(where my company is based) for a 3 week training. Do I need to pay Kansas for the whole year because of this?

My contracting company has withheld state taxes for the whole year because I was onsite for training for 3 weeks.

Kansas can tax you as a non-resident only on the income you earned from work actually performed in Kansas.  You  should file a non-resident KS return showing only the income from your 3 weeks actually working or training in Kansas.  KS will refund you the excess withheld taxes.

A few states tax non-resident remote workers, but Kansas is not one of them.
