I want file and pay my state tax owed, pay my Federal tax but file for an extension because we are establishing a new tax home this year. How do I do that?

I want file and pay my state tax owed, pay my Federal tax but file for an extension because we are establishing a new tax home this year. How do I do that?
Unfortunately, you have to e-file your Federal return before you can file your state return BUT you can mail it in.
Your only other option would be to print both returns and mail the state, pay it online through your state department of revenue website (you can select your state from the list below) and then file an extension for your federal return using the directions below:
