I received a cash payment for inheritance.

I received inheritance from my late grandmother's estate in the form of a wired cash payment. The executor said that a 1099 won't be sent out for the cash payment and that taxes were not taken out. I read in the turbotax community that a cash inheritance is not reported as income. Is that the case? Is there anything I can potentially overlook?
