I put in my State Employers Tax Id number and it says there are not enough digits. It is suppose to be 14 but it only show 13. what do I do?

1099-MISC Turbotax won't accept the State's/Payer no. It ends with “WMP”, not “WTH”

Any suggestions?  WMP is the last three letters on 1099-Misc they sent... it stands for (withheld mineral production)

I assume you are referring to a Utah state return.   There's an unusual quirk that Utah filers are experiencing, in which you might have to use lower case letters for the "wmp" at the end of the state payer ID.  At least that is what is working for other Utah filers who are reporting regular withholding (such as on a W-2) using lower case wth, so I suspect it's likely the same for folks with mineral production withholding having to use lower case wmp at the end.

The Utah payer's withholding ID number for mineral production should be 14 characters total--11 characters then ending in wmp.  The 14 characters are continuous--do not use any dashes (hyphens).

So try it again using lower case wmp and see if that works.

NOTE:  If you have other forms with a state payer withholding ID ending in wmp or wth, be sure to do it in lower case on those forms, too; such as any W-2, other types of 1099 forms, etc.
