Your tax return is a record of the final results of the calculations from processing the tax data and information

Neither your state nor the IRS tax returns have a line to show your payment being made that will bring tax due to zero.

Your state will not debit your account until they have completely processed your tax return

If you submitted your e-file on today, your state may take several weeks or months to completely process your return.

Your state considers your payment current as long as your return is submitted prior to 4/17/18.

If your payment is not processed by 4/17/2018, you can call your state's Department of Revenue to verify they received your payment.
