I need to file an extension on my 2024 taxes because I'm having problems with 2023's. How do I do that? I did it for 2023's.

I'm currently waiting for the IRS to verify me for my 2023 taxes. So this year's is on hold. That's why I would like the extension.

2024 taxes are not due until April 15th of 2025.    If you need to still do an extension for this year's return (2023) - see below

There is no fee to file an extension.  File an extension (for your 2023 tax return) by April 15, 2024, and have until October 15, 2024, to finish your taxes.   It is an extension to file - not an extension to pay your taxes; the bill is still due by 04/15/24 even if you file the extension.
