You’ll only receive a 1095-A if you purchased health insurance in 2019 through Healthcare.gov or your state’s Health Insurance Marketplace.

If the following applied to you or anyone on your taxes in 2019, they won't get a 1095-A:

  • Enrolled in catastrophic coverage or a stand-alone dental plan
  • Received Medicaid, Medicare, VA, CHIP, or other government-sponsored program
  • Have employer-sponsored coverage
  • Have a private health insurance plan

That form comes directly from the healthcare.gov site or they will mail it to you I just received my paper form the other day but you can download it in PDF form by logging onto your healthcare.gov account and going back to your 2019 application you will see tax information
