I'm still technically married, should I file as Single or Married Filing Separately?

We have been separated for almost 10 years, not legally.

If you are still legally married then you can only file as Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately. Or if you have a qualifying person as a dependent you may be able to file as Head of Household.

I do my nieces taxes and have for years. She got married this year. Her husband hasn't filed taxes for 10 years. Should she file married filing separately?
