There isn't an exception but you would report the 1095 A that you shared the policy, presumably with your spouse. Once it is reported, the 8962 will reflect your portion reported on the 1095 A. Here is how to report.
- Go to federal>deductions and credits>medical>Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A)
- Once you have your 1095A in hand, report the full amounts listed in columns A, B, and C.
- Next screen you will indicate you share this policy with another taxpayer not on your taxes
- Next it will ask the social security number, allocation dates and percentages of allocation usually that is 50/50.
- Finish out the section.
Once done, your 8962 will reflect your share of the premium owed or refunded, whatever the case may be. Let me know if this helps.
