I’m having trouble using my TurboTax 2019 desktop software. When I try to open or reinstall it, I get Error Code 630 (“There was an error validating your license code, please try again”). It appears that Intuit’s activation servers for older versions like 2019 have been shut down, making the software completely unusable even with a valid license code.
I also tried troubleshooting steps (disabling antivirus, reinstalling, checking my connection, and running as admin), but the issue persists. The updater also fails to connect with Error 42016, showing that it can’t reach the update site.
I can still be audited for up to seven years, yet I can’t access or reinstall the product I paid for to view or print my prior returns. Given that Intuit has discontinued activation for this version, I believe a refund, replacement, or credit toward a current version would be appropriate.
Can someone from Intuit please advise on how to resolve this or process a refund under the Satisfaction Guarantee policy?

Sorry they only support the last 3 years. And the License Code started in 2019. So 2019 to 2021 needs to connect to Turbo Tax to verify the License Code and to update the program and download any state programs you need. So you can’t install and activate 2021 and prior (then add a year going forward).
If you have the file ending in .tax2019 etc. you could try the TaxPrinter service to convert a .tax file to pdf at
https://www.taxprinter.com
They might be expensive and it is probably not safe to email tax returns back and forth. They are not related to Turbo Tax.
