For my income we are allowed 545. For Sales Tax. When I put in the info. The page doubles the amount. I don't understand why.

Did you take the calculated deduction and then also enter the amount? If you allow the software to calculate your sales tax deduction based on your rate and then also separately enter the amount, you may have this problem. Your sales tax deduction will report on line 5a of Schedule A.

Also, if you live in a state with an income tax, you are not eligible for the sales tax deduction. You may deduct either state sales tax or state income tax but not both.

You may also try deleting your information and re-entering the sales tax.

Under Tax Tools, choose Tools
Choose Delete a Form
Scroll through your return until you find Sales Tax Worksheet or similar, click Delete to the right of the form
Confirm that you wish to delete the form
